Am Donnerstag, den 19.6., und Freitag, den 20.6., bieten wir in den Räumlichkeiten des Comicfestivals Trickfilm Workshops an! Infos und Anmeldung hier: lichtrad.info

Los gehts am Samstag, den 21.6.2025, im Werkstattkino in der Fraunhofer Str. 9.

Sollte das Werkstattkino voll sein, keine Sorge: Nebenan, im Theater im Fraunhofer, laufen alle Filme im Saal - an beiden Tagen. Davon ausgenommen sind die Veranstaltungen, bei denen eine Anmeldung empfohlen ist.

Der Samstag ist vor allem den Kinder- und Familienfilmen gewidmet, ab dem späten Nachmittag beginnt dann ein allgemeineres Programm mit der Keynote ‘Nine Old Men’ des Disneyzeichners Andreas Deja (Anmeldung empfohlen: [email protected]).

On Thursday, 19.6., and Friday, 20.6., you can partake in free Animation Workshops! They will take place at the Comicfestival. Info und registration: lichtrad.info

The Animation Festival Munich begins on Saturday, 21.6.2025, at the Werkstattkino, Fraunhofer Str. 9.
If the Werkstattkino is full, not to worry: we will show all films from that day in a loop, next door at the Theater im Fraunhofer.

Saturday is devoted to films for kids and their families.  In the late afternoon, Disney legend and Animator Andreas Deja will present his keynote: 'Nine Old Men'. (We recommend you register for this event by sending an email to: [email protected]).

Dog Bridge by Jorn Leeuwerink
A sausage dog becomes a bridge and lets all kinds of animals walk over him. A cat sees a business opportunity.

Box by Aline Schoch
In a regulated system, different figures live isolated from each other in their boxes. They draw, cut, fold and stack the paper boxes on top of each other. As the stacks get higher and higher and collapse, the figures find each other and discover life together.

Sleep in the same state as before. A wonderful and magical economic experiment where one's head changes and one's head falls. Finally, the appearance of the image is reduced.

MUSHKA

MUSHKA tells the story of the Ukrainian girl Sarah who raises a Siberian tiger during the 1970s. She calls him Mushka, when she discovers an “M” shaped birthmark on the tiger cub’s forehead. The word Mushka is a Russian term of endearment, like sweetheart. 

As the tiger grows into adulthood, Sarah finds out that a few shady people in the village plan to kill and sell him for profit.  In an effort to save him she takes Mushka deep into the forest to the same spot where she found him as an orphaned cub. Sarah hopes that her tiger will stay in the forest and learn how to be a wild animal, far away from any humans.

Somni by Sonja Rohleder
The sun sets and the eyes are closing. Rocking from one green leaf to the next, the little monkey glides gently to sleep. But what happens next? Suddenly the world of dreams gets darker, more colorful and wild. Mysterious plants, creatures and shapes line the trajectory through the night. Somni is a cinematic lullaby.

Freak of Nature by Alexandra Lermer
A shy and lonely creature is too scared to leave the old circus cage it once was trapped in until it finds a little seedling to care for. A story about personal growth and the process of overcoming fear.

Radio Interference by Aleksey Pochivalov
The robot Radion, who works as a radio announcer, is taking a day off.

Desert Critter (Wüstentier) by Lina Walde
The desert critter casts the shadow of a palmtree. No other animal has such an annoying shadow. Can the critter swap the shadow?

Naan Stop Naan is a somewhat absurd metaphorical audio visual creation showing the continual creation and transformation of our existence embodied by the bread of life - Naan.A procedural Naan network was created in the 3D software Houdini to provide the potential of an infinite variety of Naan. Shapes and patterns were created with intentionality and chance as pseudo random variation of noises provided the groundwork for the emergence of Naan shapes and textures.

A creature in space overexploits its own planet with existential consequences: as it sinks into plastic waste, it realises that the planet's resources are finite. 
The film is the result of a 48-hour challenge with the given themes "banana, machine, future". The film also had to contain the sentence "Unfortunately that's impossible".
